Wanderlust Within City Limits

Sometimes I just have to get up and go.
I don't know when exactly I became such an antsy, nervous person but I do know that sometimes it gets to be too much.
As much as I love routine, monotony gets to me.
As much as I love being grounded, commitment freaks me out.
I often feel like I am standing at the edge of so many things at once.
As much as some people fear a single wrong step, I fear making every step wrong.
I am no solider, my cowardice will cost you nothing.
Nothing but maybe your time.
From time to time, I will dash off.
You are welcome to come with me because I would enjoy the company.
The idle chatter can be a security blanket of sorts.
I might even let you choose the destination because the distance between point A and point B doesn't really matter.
It is more about the act of drawing that line.
