Some News of Merit

I had to hold off a bit on telling you all my exciting news because I wanted to be 100% certain it would happen before I said anything. As a journalist, I have learned a lot about avoiding libel and I like to keep the same rules in my personal life as well.

So after three days of nonstop work, a lot of frantic spellcheck overkill on emails, two Skype interviews and a very large up of coffee, we have reached this point:

I have been given an internship position in the advertising and marketing department of T Publications, a comic book publishing company based in the UK.

Over the weekend I worked their booth at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo and perfected my sticker-giving-out techniques as well as my sales pitch for psychological thriller short stories.

As exciting as this all is, there are so many other great things happening at the same time that it's hard to keep my head on straight.

We move into our new apartment, right across from my favorite park, on Thursday and with this job offer comes the knowledge that I get to stay in Chicago for the summer.

Don't get me wrong, Salem will always be my lovable home town but Chicago has become my home and I am more than excited to be able to see it properly in summertime. Bonus, most of my friends will be in the city as well. Bonus bonus, I get to go back to Salem for a couple of weeks and see some lovely faces and see those cobblestone streets again.

I should really think about packing my room up or studying for the multitude of finals I have coming up but this news was too big not to share. Please, consider checking out our company: http://www.neilgibsoncomics.com I didn't start reading comics until last year and I am a very picky reader within the genre but these books are something great. Get interested. Great things are headed your way.
