day five. (once more, with enthusiasm)

Sometimes it's easy to forget that you are allowed to be enthusiastic about things.
It feels like an unwritten rule of adulthood that the scale or somber versus lighthearted moments must always tip towards gloom.
It's okay to get a bit giddy over making a giant Pom Pom for the top of your winter hat. It's also okay to then put that hat on and bound into your father's office to show it off.
It's okay to trade pictures of cute dogs back and forth with your mother like your own version of baseball cards. You can then name your future bloodhounds Harriet and Leopold; go ahead I won't judge you.
Please never stop doing the things that make you grin like an idiot.
That's what makes you, you.
