The Weekend

We're currently under tornado and flash flood warnings so Sunday has automatically become the day to stay in and contemplate life (more so than any other Sunday). With only a drawing of Cyboar: The Super Fancy Robo-Rocketship Octo-Pig that Jeremy, Adam, and Will did the other night, to keep me company, I thought I might talk about this weekend's adventures as a nice departure from having to be deep and philosophical all the time.

So I'll start with Friday night, yeah?

Instead of going out to the improv series, I stayed in and hung out with Jeremy, which has become an increasing occurrence. I made chocolate chip pancakes for dinner and Will and Adam joined us. We just talked about school and life and home and swapped stories. It was nice to just be around people who genuinely wanted me there.

Last night I went to my first Neo-Futurists show with Sean, Jeremy and a few others. They're famous for "Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind" but they have a show called "The Sovereign Statement" which, if you're in Chicago between now and the 23rd, you should totally go see. It was political mindfuckery at its finest and I enjoyed every minute of it.

This morning, I got up early-ish and went to Glazed and Infused with Adam. I had a Creme Brûlée doughnut and a latte and I was such a happy girl. I'm still getting to know Adam so it was nice to just sit and chat.

This afternoon I braved the elements to go to an audition for a student film project. I have to thank the weather gods because I think the flash flood warning scared some others off. I was the only girl there so I ended up getting the part sort of by default.

So that was my weekend, how was yours?
