Something New

This is a brand new endeavor for me. I have had other blogs before but the desire to cover new territory will always be there. This is a clean slate. I will not link my other blog here. I may do the reverse from time to time but that can be decided at a later date. It adds a bit of whimsy to the experience. Anyways, this is a blog not just for me but for a great number of people. It's something public and honest which is something I need to keep me thinking. It is for my parents who won't always get to barge into my room and demand to know my dreams and desires come fall. It's for my friends who will spread out across multiple countries and won't always get to call. This way I figure they can stay actively in my life if they so choose. It's for mentors and family members and teachers who think that sometimes I may say interesting stuff that they might want to read. It's for everyone and it's for no one. I won't write to sway others into believing that I'm someone that I'm not. I will write my thoughts and experiences. I will post assignments and creative prose that I copy from my personal journals. It makes sense that this task is scary and daunting to me. I'm starting college in a month and moving away from home for the first time. Might as well take on as many things that scare me shitless at once that I possibly can.

This is not a security blanket; this is my life.

Also, if anyone is curious as to the namesake of my blog, it is taken from a piece I wrote when I was on the train going to visit colleges. I wrote about how everyone on the train had a different story that I could only guess at but they all had something in common in the fact that at once, they were all rushing towards the great wild, the city.
